Our Little Sunshine Arrives!

We were able to be at the hospital the day our little miracle, Sunshine, was born. Before the delivery we were able to sit and talk with her birth mom and birth grandparents, and then later her birth grandma texted us throughout the delivery. We were so excited when we got that first picture of our new little baby girl shortly after she was born.

Sunshine spent her first two hours being hugged and loved by her birth mom and birth grandparents. She was then taken to the nursery, and the nurses came to get us. The moment we stepped into the nursery and saw our precious little miracle, LeeAnn started to sob tears of utter and complete joy. Holding our precious little girl, passing her back and forth every couple of minutes, sharing this amazing time, has been one of the greatest days of our marriage together.

LeeAnn was both nervous and ecstatic to be the first one to feed our little Sunshine! She needed to go back under the warming lights, so LeeAnn fed her the first bottle there. Then later, we each got to take turns feeding her back in the nursery.

Over the few days in the hospital, we spent a lot of time with Sunshine's birth mom and extended birth family. It was wonderful!

On the day we took her home, we dressed her up in the onsie her birth mom gave her and the blanket her young birth aunt made her. She looked so adorable!

The hospital made LeeAnn ride out in a wheelchair! Which was both fun and funny:)

We both wanted to help with everything, so here we are both putting her into her car seat for the first time. Isn't she just so cute!

A few hours later we arrived home; a very happy, and now bigger family! We felt, and continue to feel so blessed through the miracle of adoption!!
